Miami International Airport Runway 9-27 Pavement Rehabilitation
Runway 9-27 is the longest runway at MIA measuring 13,000 feet. Being the longest runway, its main use is for the larger and heavier aircraft used in transcontinental flights and cargo transportation. Since MIA is the number one airport in the U.S. for international freight and the number three in the U.S. for total cargo, this runway is vital to the airport and the city.
CES was a member of a team contracted by MDAD to provide a complete design for the reconstruction of Runway 9-27 at Miami International Airport. CES staff played a large part in the development of the following components of this design:
- Demolition Plan
- Pavement and Geometry Plan
- Pavement Markings Plan
- Grading Plan and Profile
- Cross sections Plan
- Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan
- Construction Oversight
CES staff also provided assistance reviewing the specifications, material quantity calculations, and construction cost estimates.
